Cooking With Artists (pt.2) (2008, Russia) - 7`11``
The Russian artist Arto Ushan has graduated from the Film and television faculty of the Moscow culture and art university in 2004. He has already participated in Media Forum 2003 with his work ”Jean-Luc Godard flees the world of film for the world of facts”. He now lives in Moscow and works as a journalist. The «Cooking With Artists» project is a series of short video clips on how contemporary artists from different countries cook, a kind of a culinary show. There is though a significant differences from commercial TV-shows of this kind as their main object - to make viewers feel hungry and motivate them to buy a new frying pan, the needed ingredients or cook the dish themselves – is absent here. On TV not the thing itself, but how it is shown is important, in «Cooking With Artists» -vice versa. All parts of the project are filmed by a camera with low-definition video ideal for YouTube – a space chosen by the artist himself to screen his work.
