Vladimir Logutov


Something about Cinema (2008, Russia) – 3`00``

An artist from Samara, Vladimir Logutov is an organizer and curator of various festivals and exhibitions both in his native city and in Moscow. Studied at the Samara Art college and Arts and crafts faculty of the Samara pedagogical university. In 2005 received the independent Stuttgarter kunstverein e.v. grant to study in Germany. His solo exhibition “Additional element” was organized in 2007 by Stella Art Foundation, the year he was also a nominee for the Kandinsky award, short-listed for the “Black Square” award (an exhibition at the Central House of Artists as part of the Art Moscow Workshop), nominee of the EIDOS 2006-2007 international competition for visual arts (Mistetskyj arsenal, Kiev, Ukraine) and also took part in the Second Moscow contemporary art biennale projects.

In the Pro Kino video accompanied by the well-known song from the Film! Film !Film! animated film by Vladimir Hitruk (1968) patterns from a child kaleidoscope rhythmically move and change on screen. They are made of fragments of copulating naked bodies: “There are many professions, but cinema is the best…”
