Irina Danilova is an artist and performer. Born in Ukraine, she now lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Participated in the international performance festivals in Cleveland (1995, 1996) Chile (1997), and Franklin Furnace’s program "The future of the present" (1999). Projects include 59 project, realized with help from ArtsLink (1999). Has exhibited at the Spaces Gallery (Cleveland, USA), Halle (Germany), Joyce Goldstein gallery (New-YorkNew York, USA), The Telephone Factory (Atlanta, Georgia, USA), A-3 gallery, (Moscow, Russia), Rigina (Moscow, Russia), the Tretyakov gallery (Moscow), Islip Art Museum (New York, USA), Weisman Museum (Minneapolis, USA) and Sofia (Bulgaria).
In 2005 Irina Danilova together with Hiram Levy have founded the Project 59 Seconds Video Festival, suggesting artists create works with 59 seconds length or playing upon the title in the content of their works. “Why 59? Why not?” – with these words organizers of this New York festival answer all questions. The tree videos presented at the Media Forum also come from the festival’s works.
